Hi all, Ive just got some certifcates through from when I was an I.T apprentice. I'm not to sure how valuable they are or what they are equivilant too. Hope someone can help.

The first one is an advanced Apprenticeship for IT users.
on the next certificate it says Level 3 NVQ for IT users
on the next it says that I was successful in the following 8 modules

make selective use of IT (3)
    operate a computer (3)
    IT maintainance (3)
    IT security for users (3)
    E-mail (3)
    Spreadsheet software (3)
    Database software (3)
Use IT to exchange information (3)

The next certificate says: Level 3 Advanced Diplomafor IT users

    and the next one says:

Who was successful on the following modules:

Designing and producing spreadsheets to analyse information - Distinction
Designing and creating relation databases - Distinction
    IT Principles 3 - Distinction
IT Principles 3 (OL)? - Pass

I have also received the level 2 qualifications, they both took about two years together whilst in a job.

    Hope someone can help

    Regards!

    Dave

Level 2 qualifications are GCSE level, so depending on what the qualifications are will dictate how many GCSE's they are equivalent to (eg a GNVQ in Health & Social care level 2 is comparable to 4-5 GCSE's at A*-C).

The Advanced Apprenticeship would be a level 3 qualification, hence why it says NVQ 3. Normally a NVQ 3 would be roughly equivalent to about 2 - 2 1/2 A levels. Again the level 3 Advanced Diploma for IT users, would be comparable to A Levels, but how many would be dependant on the actual diploma itself and the awarding body (eg how they got the diploma assessed).

Well they ain't technical certs/qualifications as they are more aimed at power users/business office users (hence the "User" in the name of the qualifications), however they can be used against other qualification as part of the entry requirements (eg in the case of degree's), and they do show that you have gain a certain level of knowledge.

Not sure what you mean by "valuable", as for me any qualification that I earn regardless of what it's in is valuable to me.

Thanks, when I said valuable I meant compared to college courses or uni courses ect.
As I am doing the Microsoft exams I guess it doesnt compare to any of them?
Sorry but I dont really have much knowledge on these exams. I just need to know what there worth as I'm in the process of rewriting my c.v and would like to include them.

    Thanks for all the replies,

    Regards,
