    I have searched on http://www.comptia.org
but I can not find where in the world A+ is recognised.

    Does anyone know?

Is it worldwide or only here in the UK?

Although it is recognised worldwide I think that in some countries it is hardly ever wanted (Take Holland as an example).

World wide - but only as wide as the cert is known. :D

Granted, I also wish that Comptia exam prices would drop. However in the great scheme of things, Comptia prices in the long run are cheaper than CISCO and the new generation of MS certs. After all what is the price of the Comptia cert (one of payment) vs approx £80 every 3 years for the other certs?

    Hi Zim,

I wasn't talking about the price tag of a single Microsoft exam, I was talking about the collective price to stay certified:

A+, Network+ one time price = certified for life
MS (next gen), CISCO, Citrix an exam every 3 years

Not bashing any cert providers as I find all useful :biggrin

Thanks for the reply everyone! :thumbleft

Wag you've answered me next question which was do we have to resit Compti exams to keep up with the technology. :readFAQ

So what happens when you get A+ or N+? Do you get a news letter from them explaing the new changes to IT?
Or is it a question of doing your own research to keep up with the times?

Do employers question the fact your A+ cert may be 2- 3 years old? or does the A+ cert show no date?

CompTIA's certs show the date it was aquired.

It is up to the potential employer to decide whether the date is too far back!

    Cheek,

    When you have a Comptia Cert you can join as a professional member. I believe it is $50 for two years;

    http://www.comptia.org/pro

As for being recognised, when i was looking for jobs the most popular cert was MCSE, MCP and also A+ with N+
