ok guys, this is the thing, ive been looking for some exams and books on the A+ and i found out i know 80% or more from it, coz ive got 2 years experince in IT, this is software Hardware, windows server etc.. But the thing is im not qualified with a A+ or a N+.
Im wondering if i take the exams, wont the companies wich im applying for may think, (ie... if this guys has 2 years experience in IT why did he take the A+ after that 2 years service, possibly he doesnt no sh*t about it) :blink :blink
ok im saying this because all my experience and my certifications have been taken in portugal, and im applying for my first IT job in uk, im planning to apply after ive taken CCNA, MCP, thats still WIP, but ill only aplly after ive taken both CCNA and MCP(any exam will do, havent got a clue wich one im taking yet)

Sorry about the long topic, i talk(write) to much.
    THANKS in advance

I don't think it could hurt to have 2 years experience in IT and have A+ and Network+ certs. After all, you don't have to say (unless asked) when you were certified. JMHO. :)

Actually, certs were designed, not to get a total newb into the IT job market, but so that those who had been working in IT could certify their existing skills. That's the original intent. They're being used quite differntly by a lot of people.

So, would an employer look at your situation as a negative? I highly doubt it. All you're doing is getting a piece of paper that verifies what you already know. That's a positive, not a negative.

Take it. It shows your knowledge is well-founded, and accredited by the relevant body. That will in many cases give you the nod over someone with the same experience, but no cert.

    Good luck :)
