What a beast!, what is it and what does it do?

It is a L class HP machine

It runs HPUX 11 - UNIX. The nice thing is it has 14 32Gb HD's at RAID 10 (RAID 5 mirrored).

It runs a pretty big database.

 

But can it play games ? :squarecy:

Could you imagine changeing those hard drives for 250GB drives........ that would give you 350 TB (I think).....hope i worked it out right!!!!!!!!

This WAS my favorite machine but i left it downloading MP3'3 while i went to the pub.............................. .



The moral of the story is: Always drink while on your PC, or take your PC down the pub.

HPUX 11 is the version of the operating system

It has 14 hard drives they are 32Gb each

We set up the Hard drives to write the data accross a number of them. In this case 7 then we make a mirror to copy everything using the other 7 drives.

 

Still its one mother of a server or is it an Xbox in sheeps clothing.
