Please, can someone recommend me a good book on Windows server scripting specifically from Windows 2000 onwards.

I am looking for ways to make my day to day and weekly admin server role less tedious such as scrpting basis task like restarting a server or service etc.

I am also looking on how to redirect a users desktop saved items to a network path etc. Thanks in advance, for your input and information. Cheerio:)

    This rules. Look no further.

For the first one, use a batch file utilising the 'shutdown' command, for the second, use folder redirection via Group Policy

Thanks Zeb, saw that earlier on today on Amazon.co.uk web site but didn't have a review. Thanks for the suggestion much appreciated and yes you're right would be looking at group policy for the folder redirection task etc.

I have actually manually created a script to shutdown and restart the servers via schedule task etc.
