    Question:

In the exam, there is a question with multiple answers and they want you to choose 3. I choose 2 that are correct and 1 that is wrong. Do i get any points for that or is the entire question marked as wrong?

Have to get the Q 100% right to get the mark for it, I'm afraid.

You are not penalized marks for getting it wrong, however...

I wouldn't worry too much though.

I doubt whether you would fail purely based on getting a *part* of an answer wrong several times over. If it really was 3 answers and you got 2 correct then, as long as it wasn't through guess-work, you'd more than likely know the 3rd part of the answer also.

It's about knowing the material at the end of the day. The different question formats are more about trying to beat the cheats than to confuse the genuine test-taker...

Thanks - I'm getting there but going through the end of chapter questions there are a few where I'm missing one of the 3 answers..

Will just have to re read it

Which is exactly what would be expected on the first read-through, so don't worry.

Get through all of the material, start your practice tests with around 3-4 weeks left before your test-date (try to get this booked before you finish the material, so you have a goal to aim for...), and then re-visit the areas that you're showing weaknesses in.

This is just my input it might not work for you.

Instead of reading the whole chapter again just look up the subject answer the questions and move on to the next chapter. Finish the book.

Then go back and look at all the questions and look at the areas you just don't remember. Reread those sections.

Take practice test. These will be the best for you to understand where your at.

don't be discouraged on low practice test scores. Look at the areas your doing poorly and look them over.

don't just memorize the answer. While taking the practice test. Get a strategy for answering questions.

After you feel your prepared go take the test.

This is a matter of preference, of course, but I never take notes...

Back at Uni, many years ago, during a particularly mind-blowing lecture on quantum mechanics, I asked a mate whether he was taking any notes.

He replied by saying "Taking any notes? I wasn't even taking any notice..!". The point being that he was fully prepared to go over all of this later, from the text, at his own pace - as this approach obviously worked better for him.

There's no right way, and what helps you personally remember the material is the regime you should follow.

I don't make notes either, never have with my exams really.

I did actually start making notes for the 291 but also felt like I was re-writing the book, and also spending so much time making the notes, that the topics didn't flow or sink in as it was taking so long to get through the material!!

Now I just get through the book, doing the practices and questions along the way. Then I'll watch a few videos and take a Transcender or two, that will tell me where my weaknesses are so I can then re-read and research more on the area. Rinse and repeat til I feel comfortable!

Also, I'm sure more of it is sinking in then you realise. Its amazing how when you re-read something how much easier it is second time round, as most of it you do remember.

Yep, OS's and computers being a very practical subject and none of the exams are ever going to ask for "a thousand words on..." type answers.

Read the text - follow videos, but above all 'DO'. Run through labs and practical excercises like you're being examined on it - this is where the knowledge to pass lies, I think.

How are you getting on with the 70-680? I have taken a complete break from it at the moment, I have my practical driving test on March 21st, so as long as I pass that 1st time I can then crack on with IT exams again... I found that when I was spending a lot of my time studying 70-680 then for whatever reason my mind was drifting away from driving, and vice-versa so I made a decision around 3 weeks ago to give up the 70-680 and any other IT exams until I have passed my driving.
