Bob and Carol are members of the same Universal Group in a Windows Server 2003 domain. The domain is operating in Windows Server 2003 functional mode. Bob has been a member of this particular group for about six months but Carol was just added to the group late Friday due to a promotion. Both work in the same office and try to logon to the domain on Monday morning. Bob is able to successfully logon but Carol is not. What could be the problem? Select only one answer.

Magic 8 ball lost it's powers this time, Gav. Correct answer if F: Global Catalog server is down. Universal groups and the objects therein require a GC server for their logon since such groups can transverse domain boundries. Bob had previously logged onto the system and was able to logon even though the GC server was down by using cached credentials. Carol had never logged on before so there were no cached credentials (you have to have logged on previously, at least once) so her logon failed.
