Ian is studying Active Directory site links. These are links between sites that AD uses to replicate information from one site to another. There are two intersite (between site) transport protocols for replicating data. Which two of the choices below is Ian studying?

    A. RPC over TCP
    B. RPC over IP
    C. SMTP
    D. SNMP
    E. UDP
    F. LDAP

    Answer later.

Correct answer time: It's B & C. RPC over IP is the preferred transport method and the only one that supports replication within a domain. SMTP is used when the link between two sites is unreliable. It is quite limited and the transport method of last resort.

    Good going, everyone. More tomorrow.
