    Xen (the Open Source one) and Xensource free product are both no where near as performant as VMWare
    VMWare Server is also free Freddy, as is MS Virtual Server, all of these are desktop hypervisors, they are not bare metal hypervisors

    XenSource Enterprise has some nice new features, and is quite fast, but it has yet to be proven faster than ESX, and costs money, and is no where near as feature rich,

    Free != better, sometimes you really do get what you pay for, and a business needs certain things more than it needs free software
