Been studying like mad for this since i passed the 270. The plan was to go on to 290, but i thought while the 270 material was fresh in my head i should go for the MCDST.

Mitz- Yeah, it seems I took my time (maybe a bit too long!) on A+ and N+ but now seem to be reeping the benefits by building on top of them.

Passed with 966.

Good variety of questions. For anyone about to start on the MCSA/E route, i would advise to go for this cert first.
From what i have seen so far, the 270 is split in half to make up 271 and 272; a great cert.

Cracking straight on with the 272.

Grrrrrrr!!! way to make me feel i should be doin more to get 271 sorted.. been studying for months now and still cant get past chapetr 5 of the ms press book on it........

Funny you mention that Zim, because i had a very, very quick skim over the 272 material and it would appear Outlook and Office are the Prime concern.

thats right! but if you been installing and troubleshotting office for 6 months+ then you will have no problems just the outlook part for me was a little harder ... and stay away from exam cram2 books!

i used it for 271 and they messed me over... used the 1st edition of ms press book for 272....they lack info for mcdst IMO
