Hi everyone, I need some advice on what book to buy for the 270 that I am starting to study. Obviously I need a book that covers all the material but one that also has detailed pictures and isnt to boring to read.

I've heard the MS press books are good but on the reviews on amazon some state that it was a boring read and could of been half the size as some detail went round the houses.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Regards,
    Dave

I used the MS press books, they are a bit big and the Sybex books. I used the Sybex books as they're a bit easier to walk around with, great for when your stuck in a traffic jam.:D

I quite like the Que books but own all of the MS Press books for MCSE 2003 and MCITP, big and heavy books.

you should get both, never use one book or one source to study from.

I haven't done the 70-270 yet but I have the first book as its the ms press book training kit which should be a mandatory buy if you ask me.

Cheers mate, I think i'll buy both then :biggrin. Just the second one says exam crams 2, im guessing its not just the second part of the crams for the 270.

some of the exam cram books come in pairs so you use both for revision purposes whilst you use a proper book like the MS press book to study from. A bit like with Mike Meyers' passport book is for revision purposes and the all in one guide is for study purposes.

I'm currently studying for the 270 - and I have the MS Press book, Sybex and Exam Cram 2 - I've always gone with those 3 for each MS exam I've taken so far so will continue to do so.
