As I already posted, I got the 2509 router, but it behaves really strange, so I will need help for this.

    I configured it...

    interface Loopback0
    ip address 100.1.1.1 255.255.255.255

    ip host R3 2005 100.1.1.1
    ip host R2 2004 100.1.1.1
    ip host R1 2003 100.1.1.1
    ip host S2 2002 100.1.1.1
    ip host S1 2001 100.1.1.1

    line 1 8
    transport input telnet

I connected to console ports of 3 routers and 2 switches . So, using access router, I can connect to 1 switch and 2 routers, can't connect to other 2. Tried erasing config, reloading...

What did I do wrong? Please help. Thank you!

What's the configs of your switches and routers?

    Only this:

    hostname something
    enable secret class
    line vty 0 4
    login
    pass cisco
    logg sy
    line con 0
    login
    pass cisco
    logg sy

What happens when you swap the octal cable connections?

Only cable 1 doesn't work, others do.

And also, I have to do "clear line x" all the time for any cable or else I get "connection refused by remote host". For example: I put the cable 5 in a switch (S1) and I get "connection refused...". Then I use "clear line 5" and then I can connect. After that, if I exit with ctrl+shift+6 and x, and try to connect again...I can't. I have to do clear line again and then it works. That's not normal, right?
