    Hey guys,

I have seen this ad recently and thought would share it with you if you are starting MS course/not sure where to start, live in London, these people offering help and the good this it is Free/goverment funded.

There were 374 IT helpdesk jobs in London advertised on the UK’s leading IT recruitment site this week. But how can you get a job in IT without the right skills and experience?

The Go4IT programme will give you the skills and practical experience that employers are looking, helping you to change career and get a job in IT.

We will give you full training on the software and how to support it plus practical experience of supporting users. We will also help with CV writing and interview skills. The programme covers:

    • Supporting Microsoft Windows
    Supporting Microsoft Office
    • Excellent Customer Service
    • Interview skills and CV design

The 2 week programme is FREE – fully funded by the Government. To be eligible you must live or have worked in West London and have been made redundant in the last 6 months.

Skills Team are one of the leading providers of government funded IT programmes in London. Our expert tutors have a proven track record of training and getting people into their first jobs in IT. Now all this expertise is available to you at no charge.

This is not really aimed at IT pro's and is just another TP accessing some Govt funding for very limited and (imho) overpriced training which provides :

    The programme provides:
    • An individual skills and training needs analysis
    • 4 days of classroom training on Word, Excel,
    PowerPoint and Outlook
    • 4 online courses for Word, Excel, PowerPoint
and Outlook covering 60 hours of online
    learning and support
    • Tutor support throughout the programme via
    the phone or email
    • A comprehensive workbook and ‘evidence builder’
    • A one-to-one final assessment session with your tutor
    • A data collection pen to store all assignments and
    course examples

I doubt it will really be of much practical use for anyone here as it states :

    Who should attend?

The programme is designed to assess and improve their current skills.
The programme is ideal for people who have basic IT literacy and want to get to a good intermediate level.
