Just make sure it isn't a tacky christmas tie that plays jingle bells. I was given a tie like that as a christmas present. The song doesn't work anymore though.

2nd interview update!

It went very well. I was able to do all tasks given to me which was good. I got to meet alot of the staff and they were all very friendly and interested to hear about me. The tasks were very simple such as mapping network drives and printers, exporting access tables into excel, fix a non bootable pc etc. I was expecting to do more harder tasks but the interview seemed to be more like a practise go of sitting in the office at my desk and doing IT related tasks and to see how I get on with the staff. Therefore I assume that from my first interview, they believe that I am technically qualified for the job as they weren't testing my technical abilities in the second.

I was told I will hear tomorrow now so fingers crossed and thanks again for your support

I got the job

I am very pleased to get it. I start in January so I can relax over christmas and enjoy myself. The company has invited me to the christmas works party on the 21st so I can get to know the staff a little more (while under the influence of alcohol ). Thanks again to everyone being so supportive and its nice to hear the advice from people who been through the tough time in getting their first IT job.

Next goal: Complete my CCNA (im nearly there).
