VMware Certifications - VCP Exam and Course requirements

    As most of you are probably aware you are required to sit a qualifying course for the VCP however what you may not be aware of is the fact that you can actually sit the exam before attending the qualifying course, obviously if you go down that route and even though you have passed the exam you won't be recognised as a VCP until VMware have both the Course and Exam details on record.

    What this means is that if you're confident about passing the exam but don't have the time or money to sit through the course at the moment you can book and sit the exam whilst the knowledge is fresh in your head and attend the qualifying course later on.

    One caveat on this, you need to sit the qualifying course before the end of availability so for example you may want to sit the VCP 4 exam now but you will want to find out when the VCP 4 qualifying courses are going to stop running before it's too late (remember that VCP 5 is the current exam and if you want to sit that now and wait you have longer to wait until that track is removed but with VCP 4 I wouldn't wait too much longer).
