    Hi all
I would like your opinion on a phone call I got last night. Some one from Quick cert (Specailized Solutions) in the States phoned me last night trying to sell me a Comptia A+ essentials and A+ Specialist CD course. He spent the good part of one hour and a half on the phone and in the end brought the price down to £160+ £35 p+P or there abouts when I said I would need to think about it he asked me how much I wanted to pay?
Well in the end I said I could not make decision right there and then and said that I would get back to him.
The course includes a CD/video package email/phone support and they also had online streaming video classes for a year. I don't know if that is included.
I told him I was going to get the Mike Myers book and get the help of you guys.
    What do you reckon?
    Steve

    Cheers Sandy
Well I ordered the Mike Meyers All in one Sixth edition ,hope thats the latest (I think it is)
    I oredred from http://www.dvd.co.uk/product2.asp?fs=froogle&id=0072263113
Seems a good price and company.
I am a bit confused about the certification. The guy that phone me said that the A+ core and OS had been replaced by Essentials and A+ specialist . The Mike Meyers doesn't seem to mention that in the info.

Bossa, the Meyers 6th Edition covers the new 2006 objectives. Hopefully you've purchased the right edition?

Great ! It says Sixth edition so I guess I should be OK there. So the Essentials replaces the Core Hardware and the A+ specialist replaces the OS? or is it just that the Essentials replaces the HW and the OS? I have been on the Comptia site aand its not clear( well not to me:oops: )

I believe its just a new structure, from what I can see so far, Essentials seems to cover the hardware side of things. I began from the 2006 objectives so didnt actually do much research on the 2003 ones!

The objectives can be found on the CompTIA website, which also shows the percentages each domain holds in the exam.

    Anyway, Get reading! :D
