Are you using another firewall in conjunction with the windows default firewall after installing SP2?E.g. Zonealarm etc or turning off windows default & sticking to your faithfull firewall?

Any advice would be welcome :biggrin

I'm just using Zonealarm, I turn off the inbuilt MS one. I personally wouldn't trust that firewall on it's own.

However, I can't see there being a problem with running both, but I don't really see the point if your happy with the firewall you are using and it seems to work ok.:D

I thought it might be easier just to run the M$ one, as appossed to zonealarm, so not having another bit of software to constantly update.

I currently disable the M$ one & run zonealarm as i'm not reaaly sure how good the M$ is on SP2, only heard bad things prior to the SP2.

Are the updates to the M$ firewall integrated into Hotfixes?

From the test and review articles I've read, SP2 firewall is much improved over the original version. That is it blocks more inbound problems than before, but it is still the same on the outbound side i.e. it blocks nothing.

You are better off in all cases using a third party firewall like ZA.

I just use ZA. I haven't had any problems with it.
