just had a bit of good news at work yesterday, we're hopefully getting Win XP Pro on our machines from next week. :D about flamin time too cos the colours on NT 4 are really boring me now...I have changed the IE title bar to It's A Small Web After All instead of the usual Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by....so lets see what XP Pro will bring. of course only downside is that we will only get the usual limited uses :( but no doubt muggins here will be looking for ways to change that  but just thought I would share that with you guys :)

We're getting XP soon at our place, we have NT4 at the moment.
Also got LCD's and binned the CRT's the other day, which is muchos better.

Yeah XP is going to be much better, but I'll not likely get to use it at work before they make me redundant lol, c'est la vie.

It seems like the business world have told Billy that they're not interested in upgrading from XP until at least 2010, so I hope you like XP better than NT4 noel :D

only slow moving businesses take that stand, and the majority of microsofts business is with small - mid sized business that are much faster moving

governments, blue chips and fortune 500s are the slowest to adopt change, the ramifications are much wider felt, but ole billy makes enough from the rest of the market not to worry too much

We've used XP Pro soince I've been here (start of the year) and as we're the Tech dept, its entirely up to us how we set up our PCs (and they DO end up getting formatted rather a lot) . Also, at the moment, I'm using rather a nice skinned version of Pro - verrry nice :D

we're using NT (4 i think) on most of the machines at our work, though the new ones installed at some of the seats this week are running 2k. but from their POV its not worth the cost to upgrade the OS's when what they have is MORE than adequate for the needs of the business!
