I have been asked to lock down and generally tidy up a <home> system. It has been so long since i have used Home, i have forgotten what it lacks compared to Pro.
I planned to lock the system down a bit using Local policy via computer management. Will it be there, because i know gpedit.msc won't!

Security is very limited in Home compared to Pro. From memory the only 'lock down' that you can do is to create users as normal users rather than administrators.

    Si,

As i thought. Harry did post something (from the MS site) that was ideal for locking down XP, but from what i recall it was like a GUI'd group policy so not so good for Home.

Set the user up with a Limited user account and then lecture the user about the advantages of upgrading to XP Pro :biggrin
