So I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using open source Xen virtualisation ? Seems everyone here uses VmWare instead ?

We use Citrix Xenserver for our XenDesktop farm, but considering moving to Hyper-V instead.

We've had a few issues with Xen in that VM's keep crashing, pools drop out for no reason and others. The considering part is still in the thinking about because of the considerable amount of work involved in the change.

what version of XenServer are you using and are they up to date with the fixes, granted the older versions were a bit ropey but I've not had any issues with version 6 and above, currently running version 6.2 in my labs. I think version 5.6 when I used to come across it needed liberal use of the xe-toolstack-restart option! :)

Oh we have mate, app crashes in office with a pvs vdisk setup. Speaking to Citrix I think our issue is related to ASLR but still waiting for Microsoft to get back to us on our full memory dump. We've put a work around in place but uptime solution Citrix say is to go to pvs 7.1. No small feat as you will know
