xbox 360 controller config for pc

I'm having trouble changing the xbox 360 controls in Prince of Persia The Two Thrones.

The left and right trigger buttons won't register and when I press the right trigger button in the menu it moves the cursor up.

The back button also does not register and neither do the two stick click down buttons.

I've researched and some people have had this issue as well as other problems, but no specific solution was given. Some workarounds like xpadder and pinnaclegameprofiler were suggested.

Can anyone help? My drivers are up to date, controls would change fine in Sands of Time and Warrior Within (except for walking).

Can you manually configure the controls in one of the game files using Notepad, in this game's case perhaps the POPData.bf or POP3Config files?
