    I came across this the other day:

    How do you write the sound scooby doo makes when he is puzzled, I have tried to write it down;

    HHuuurghh!

    That's a great sound to make when the gasman comes over to read the meter and you don't know where it is!!!

    Don't get me and Dawn started on this :biggrin

    I think you'll find that those words are actually reasonably well-known. I used 'Apotheosis' in a conversation a few weeks ago - got some quizzical looks, but a couple of people knew what it meant. As for 'proletariat' - anyone with even an 'A' level politics, economics, history or sociology education knows about the proles and the bourgeoise

    What Zeb said. Continue ye not, lest you get blinded by wordage.

    A word I use far too often at the moment is propensity, which is a natural inclination towards something.

    But yeah, proletariat is a word I heard far too often in A Level History :)

    Awww JK do you feel threatened? I'm anispeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused such pericombobulation.

    (I know I know it's cheating but I couldn't resist in this kind of conversation!)

    May I offer you my most sincere contrafibularities on such an amusing thread :)

    Ahh you mean Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (and yes i can say it, 15 years in wales means you learn one or two words....)

    The name means: St Mary's Church (Llanfair) in a hollow (pwll) of white hazel (gwyngyll) near (goger) the swirling whirlpool (y chwyrndrobwll) of the church of St Tysilio (llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo goch). (wikipedia)
