Grace is a first semester student in a computer networking program at her local college. She is reviewing the specifications of various network devices and is now reading about wireless Access Points. She notices that her text reports an Access Point has the same level of intelligence as what? Choose one answer.

    A. A wireless NIC
    B. An Ethernet hub
    C. An Ethernet switch
    D. An Ethernet router

    Answer later.

Well, it's after 8 forum time so I guess I can reveal the correct answer: C. An AP is about as intellegent as an Ethernet switch. Not bright enought to be a router since it only operates at OSI model layer 2. There are such thing as wireless routers and most folks who want wired and unwired broadband access in their homes have one to "share the wealth".

    Good one, gang. More tomorrow.
