    Read somewhere there won't be 2016 R2 as MS wanted to improve Server line like they do with Win10... Happy to hear that's not true.

    On the other hand not seen 2016 in production yet :(

    But It is true, as it needs to be, this isnt the 90s, and running infrastructure like it is doesnt provide a ton of business value to the majority of orgs (not all, thats why we have LTSB)
    what 2019 is is the next LTSB of 'Windows Server' which means it will have a GUI and not get all the incremental updates between releases
    Windows Server will still continue to get all of those if you are not on the LTSB, allowing you to gain feature enhancements as they drop

    Interesting discussion guys. I do find the LTSC offerings very interesting. I tweeted about this a day or two ago so need to make sure I’m posting on here too. Just trying to see if I can get a preview now. I love a new MS OS

    Yeah – I only have around 20 Server 2016 servers out there just now. Server 2012 R2 was doing the business and the bigger clients (old school let’s wait until SP1 before installing anything people) were happy to stick with the build I was using.

    Anyways – spinning up a VM with the preview ISO for a nosey….

    Actually I have an MSDN account, I may just have a play with 2019 as well (after getting my lab up and running of course).
