I would have to say SimonV for his hard work in creating and running this forum that has helped me and many other people in the IT industry.

Mine is my dad's mate, Darren. I just looked him up now and he doesn't have a website, but is still active.

 

I would say the whole CF community. The sheer amount of quality threads on these forums is staggering. Personally, I don't think I would have been able to land my first IT Job (which I just started this week by the way!) without all the knowledge that I have gained here. The advice posted about certs, careers, goals and life in general have been invaluable, so kudos to you guys

And just to echo what Rob1234 said - Thanks a lot SimonV for creating such a fantastic community and keeping it alive and also a huge thanks to all the staff who have helped make the community as great as it is today.

Seriously though my technology inspiration is probably my dad, he had the foresight to realise fairly early on that computers were going to be pretty important so made sure me and my sisters had as much exposure as he could manage!

 

I'm working in a data centre, but undergoing training at the moment.

Obviously, it's a very hands on role so I plan to soak up as much information as I can. I was shown a (broken) rack server today and bloody hell, it weighed a tonne; good for working out my arms!
