i am pursuing a career in It and have been immersing myself in the basics for the last 6 months and have built a few pc's and have just passed my comptia a+ both exams and looking for a career in networking - i was wondering what exam to take next whether the comptia network or cisco or mcse - i was contemplating whether to get a helpdesk type qualification and start in that area and move across or to just go straight into the networking if thats possible - any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to CF:D

The CompTIA Network+ is the next best step, as it will give you a solid grounding in networking.

The CCNA and MCSE are not entry level certs, and should only be attempted when you are working in IT and have the relevant experience.

agree - from what i've seen, stick with the comptia certs until you've built up a few years of xp
