I am not after anything hooky here, ok.....

With Win 7 on the way, I want to upgrade my PC and lappy to Vista from Win XP Home.

Amazon and PC World all want about £80 for fresh install copies. I dont want upgrades.

Does this seem about right or are there sources I don't know about? Amazon do "second hand copies" but these examples.. "i opened it but didn't want it" would be useless wouldnt they as Vista is pretty clever at identifying installs?

    Any thoughts

    Cheers

It's not really a problem. If you can't activate, just call Microsoft's hotline. They'll "trust you" and give you a code to activate the machine just fine, and form then on, the key is really yours.

Or you could make friends with someone at Microsoft and get very cheap or free copies ;)
