Reading this forum a got confused:
if certifications are for people with experience then where do people like me who don't have experience get knowledge?
Let's say i want to be DBA one day what is the path to achieve that?

There re certs for starters and certs who are already in IT.

Look at a DBA beginers class at a college or get some basic dba books and practice yourself.

    Certifications: A+, N+, MCDST, Security+, 70-270
    WIP: 70-620 or 70-680?

The best thing to do is train yourself, and then volunteer your services where you currently work, if you show the necessary skills you may eventually gain promotion.

Alternatively you could volunteer, or you could apply for jobs which have progression

My opinion would be you dont neccesarily need the experience to learn the knowledge, just dont go taking the exam as saying you are certified in X when you don't have the experience which that cert dictates you should have makes the cert a little less useful. My opinion would be why not gain the knowledge.
