    Hi All,

Just had a question on this elsewhere, so thought it would be a good subject for a thread.

So, whats your favourite TLA (three letter acronym) ? As IT is riddled with them, there's gonna be some good ones.

Also, as this was prompted by me using one in a posting context, lets keep this relevant to the forum as well (and relatively serious, if we can :p )

IMHO (in my honest opinion) this should be helpful to anyone joining the boards as well.

    HTH :D

Actually, TWAIN does mean exactly that. For once, an xLA that's pretty acccurate.

i fear this is drifting from jaks original intent with this post for the most part, i assume he meant within the IT sector, not net-speak!

    i personally like:
    GUI (Graphical User Interface)
CLI (which a book i have solemly claims is actually Command Line Interpreter, as opposed to Command Line Interface)

other acronyms i like to use in general are things like HDD, FDD, MOBO, PSU, just cause i like using them, maybe its cause it makes me feel big an clever, what do you think??

    Fergal

BTW: Jak, out of TLA, i personally prefer T*ts! sorry, had to say it!

Actually Fergal I think Jaqk did mean more in the net speak way. It can be very frustrating for newbies to see these used in an everyday conversation and not know what they mean.

It took me ages to find out what BRB meant; Be Right Back
