I need office on my computer as my trial runs out very soon.. I want the cheapest package, which I believe is 365 personal which is £5.99 per month. I'm confused though, as office 365 is a cloud service does this mean I wont be able to install the office programs such as word, excel etc. locally?

Is it just Office you need mate? If so here is the link below. You can download the full version no problem.

You can set up a business account - sounds crazy but I have a subscription with one mailbox in it which means I get a full version of Office 2016 and also a Exchange, SharePoint etc. in the cloud for training.Works out at £7.80 a month if you pay for the year in one go.

I bought Office 2016 home and student £120, pretty cheap.

You can also get 30 day eval.

I was looking at the business subscription but thought it was exclusive to businesses, will be getting this version. I'm sure I read that you have to commit to a year subscription of it though?

Yes, it's a year commitment to the subscription.
The fact that it's licensed via a 'cloud' subscription only means that your license is checked against that subscription. The actual software is installed locally via the Click-to-run mechanism, you have the full local install and don't need to be connected to use.

Similar to Sparky I have an enterprise sub for playing around, although I don't have Office with mine, just my mail accounts and sharepoint etc.

i paid £35 for the year for a pre-paid code from curry's for a mate of mine.

Lets you download and install apps as usual, takes a while to do so mind you - but works well.

Ahh right I thought that was the case, I think I will get it as I'm focusing on learning 365 so may aswell. Its not that much when you think about it and I believe theres a saving if you buy a full year in one go. Thanks for the info
