I just followed up my cv that i handed into the local computer shop a week or so ago (the owner was on holiday so I had to wait abit to follow it up) and the owner said he's possibly interested and would have to meet me first... so we arranged something for tomorrow..

Now i'm not sure on what to wear? I don't want to overdress or underdress!!

Any advice? I have a suit.. but I think that might be overdressing a bit.. The technicians I know wear dark trousers and a polo shirt, but I'm just not sure how to dress?? Can anyone offer some advice please?? :biggrin:biggrin

You could just call the shop and ask someone. No kidding. I've asked that question before. Chances are a polo shirt and semi-dress slacks would be fine.

I purposefully left out the shoes as it doesn't really matter.

Just don't go wearing sparkly red 5" heels and you'll be fine.

As a general rule of thumb, i would say think about what you would expect to wear if you worked there, then go a little smarter. Going off this, the shirt and reasonably smart trousers seem to fit.

My shoes are pretty stupid. When I ask them questions about basic computer support, they just sit there with their tongues hanging out.

    :lolbang:

On a more serious note.. I'm really stressing out!!!

    My main concerns:

    1) Not waking up on time (1pm is considered early for me). Meeting is late morning.

    2) Suit trousers, plain white shirt, looks a bit "boring/blank".. maybe that's just me?

    3) What else should I take? My BND SRF and my GNVQ cert? Or all my GCSE certs aswell? :S

    4) I don't even know the owners name. It's a small shop and it doesn't have any names on it. Is there a business directory or something with the owners name??

Best to be over dressed then under.

Lookup on companieshouse.gov.uk after you call or tried an 118 number to get shop name if you know what road it on.

    Best of luck

Jeans or smart trousers and a shirt and some nice shoes.

DO NOT WEAR: Farrah trousers otherwise someone will beat you up or some people will point and laugh at you.

DO NOT WEAR: Cords for the reason above unless you like living in the 80s

DO NOT WEAR: Bright colours or anything says Im mental and totally maaaaaad :D
