Do you just get a certificate when you pass the MCDST, A+, N+?

Hopefully I can tell you about the MCDST in a week or two. 8)

As regards A+ and Net+, yes, you get (naff :dry) certificates.

You also get certificateS for passing your MCTS and your MCITP. :D

you just get a certificate and a viewable record of exams taken and nothing else.

And yeah for the money you pay for exams you would think the certificates would look better.

I should get my MCP cert for the 271 in the next few weeks, so I'll see if I get one for that.

Ah yes, but I don't do it for the cert or the badge... I do it to show that I have the knowledge, and the experience (most of the time), to pass the exams.

I like the badges. Wouldn’t wear them to work, but they get blue-tacked to my monitor at home. I ordered my MCSA:M kit the other week, hopefully I will get a badge with it.

Couldn't agree more; indeed, I have my certs up on the wall of my office at home. I worked hard for 'em so it's nice to look at 'em from time to time.

Umm... maybe it is just MCTS and MCITP that they've stopped doing the badges for. A great pity if they have. Maybe I'll ask Trika.

Whenever you gain a new status (A+, Network+, MCDST, etc), in the welcome pack you get the nice shiney cert, a wallet card and a congrats letter.

For MS info on welcome kit, see here.

    Aw... I'm gutted, Ken. :(

How on earth does stopping doing the lapel badge help them to "focus on delivering benefits with higher approval ratings"? :blink

Oh well... I'd never wear it anyway.

when i got mcdst first off when I got my MCP by doing 70-271 i got an email from microsoft giving me an MCP ID

then I phoned microsoft up spoke to some in customer services they gave me the MCP website and an authentication code when on the website signed in with my mail auth code. I then have my own MCP website went to the welcome pack section checked a box got that ordered it turned up 2 - 3 weeks later with a certificate from bill LOL saying well done and and a little plastic card with my name on saying MCP

when I passed the 70-272 and got dst went back on that site ordered the welcome pack got that got another card with another cert

I have passed my MCTS yesterday and I am waiting for prometric to update it with Microsoft and im hoping i will go through the same process

why would you want a lapel pin?

Crap but the certificate could look better, like that you could put them on the wall or something.
