I am really interested in a career in IT but i don't know what course to take first.

I know the basic Excel, internet use, Word, etc, but hat's about it.

I have always worked in the aviation industry as a customer service, but i need this change.

I wonder if anyone can advise on what course to start with as a beginner(so to speak)?

    Thanks

Hi emmanuella. Welcome to CertForums. I moved this thread to the "New Members" forum since it seemed more appropriate here. The forum you originally posted your query in is more for problems and questions about how the site itself functions.

As far as answering your question, it really depends on what part of IT you're interested in. If you have a customer service background, you might want to start off in a similar role relative to IT. That means certification tracks involving CompTIA's A+ certification and/or Microsoft's MCDST cert track.

Have a look at those links and see what you think.

    Welcome!

You don't need a course for the aforementioned certifications. Just study for and take the A+ exams and you're on your way. :)

Hi & welcome to CF :)

You may want to look into the ECDL/ICDL (depending if you're in Europe/UK or not) first as that is one step below the A+ (as you've stated that you only "know the basic Excel, internet use, Word, etc, but hat's about it", but it does depend on you, your knowledge & how you feel about it. Apart from that I agree with what's been said already :)
