I know we've had one or two threads like this in the past...

So like the title says, what are you guys working on these days?

I am working on a BES migration, 4.1 to 5 and SCCM (setting up other offices for OSD) while studying for the 293

I work as a consultant at Microsoft Consulting Services, providing support for our clients in the following technologies:

    Active Directory
Office Communications Server 2007/R2 and Lync 2010
    Exchange (2003, 2007 & 2010)
    Forefront Identity Manager 2010
    and Windows/Office

Right now I am working on Exchange 2010 migrations for 3 very large customers, OCS/Lync for two customers, Windows 7 (RUP/FR) and DC hardening for another customer, an AD migration from 2003 to 2008 R2 for another customer, and some bits and pieces...

Yes, keeping me very busy indeed. The thing I've learned when doing this kind of work, is that some customers clal on you at short notice, whilst others sign contract over long term. Juggling these requests is a challenge in itself, and we try not to disappoint any of our customers. Obviously, if customer Y takes a long time to make up their mind and if I've fixed a 3 month job opportunity at customer X, the moment customer Y wants me to come onboard, I need to find ways of ensuring I can work for both to the best of my abilities.

This job is definitely NOT for someone who cannot work under stress. Crazy, tough job, but I absolutely love it.

Well the BES server is now setup. I got the trial CALs which only gives me 20 user licenses... I will need to call my Provider and get a temp CAL and SRP to do my migrations next week.

I am currently working on migrating our physical servers to VMware as well as preparing a new domain for exchange server 2007.

It is very busy and challenging, but hey no said working in IT would be easy:) but am enjoying it even if though it can get stressful.

Stress is something you have to be able to take because once you get to a certain level, it becomes more and more stressful.

    Hey Guys,

I have been working with a consultant to implement Lync 2010 along with Exchange 2010. It's a very complicated product with tons of server roles. I am trying get a Lync 2010 certification but there's not much resources out there. I found some Lync 2010 Tutorial but I am looking for something official written by sybex. Any one here to trying to get certified on Lync 2010 also?

I haven't kept up with the latest certifications out there, so is there an MCTS/MCITP for Lync now? I thought only OCS had one out (a revised one to R2) which I managed to pass (but barely). Lync is thankfully a simpler product than OCS ever was... loving it so far :)

Currently, this week, I'm investigating some sort of TS/VDI for our students and staff.

Yeah, the beta ran until the 14th of Jan 2011. So, the live exam (if it ain't already live) should be going live in the next month or so :)

Ah, pretty cool. Something I might give a try when I'm done with Exchange 2010 exams sometime later this year.
