Don't you get free Web space with your Internet service?

I think most, if not all ISP's supply web space. The only thing you might have to do is buy a domain name as the one your ISP give's you will be a bit long.

You could setup your own webserver on a normal PC. For windows i used to use WAMP it features PHP, MySQL, Apache.

If your doing your CIW, I'd recommend getting your own hosting. ISP hosting is often very basic, and is limited to html only. Grab a cheap account from someone like dreamhost and you will be good to go. This will allow you to learn the ins and outs of web hosting, mysql, email accounts etc, and all for like $10 a month.

I have alot of my sites hosted on my 1 dreamhost account, and whilst not the fastest hosting in the world, you do get pretty much unlimited space & bandwidth, and you get to play as much as you like.

Alternatively, set up Apache or IIS at home. If you have a static IP you can register a domian and point the A record at your IP. If your IP is dynamic, you could use one of the free Dynamic DNS companies for a free domain, and you install a small app to update the DNS everytime your issued a new IP :rock
