How's the job?

 

Glad to hear it. Place wouldn't be the same without ya (you too Jim).

Bit tough at the moment as the infrastructure has changed/grown and we haven't got any new team members to go with it...however we've just been blessed with a great new manager who is already making changes - shuffling things around so that the things that need to be done are done (essential "proactive" monitoring etc.)...some of the changes require us to work extra hours we wouldn't normally do (which leaves me shattered with the degree to study for as well), but he's so good at motivating us and the results are already making BAU much easier ...he's been there about 6 weeks and we're already starting to see things turn for the better. Degree is keeping me focused - it's given me a lot of confidence. Was doing 18 hours a week studying: two modules along side each other, but the first one finished and OCAS was 83% (yay) so that's brought the hours down to a more manageable 8-9 per week..

How's your job going?

Of course you do - you've been around on here a fair few years now! You didn't actually say how you are though? I hope everything's going ok for you.

Manager is rare. I just hope he doesn't get demotivated before he finishes his good work!

Well, I just came back from 2 weeks holiday to find over 300 emails in my inbox, mostly about the broken exchange server which turns up with new problems almost daily. I think that says it all.

Yep! Finished up TSHOOT, which is absolutely one-of-a-kind. Now we're working on some NetSim stuff.

I've lost a couple stone with the help of a low-carb diet... and still enjoying TKD.

Wife is good... kids are good... job is good... life is good.

And... I'm glad you're back.

Wow. Is there anything left of you? Be careful - if it's anything like Atkins it can be a bit damaging if done for too long

 

I've dropped from a high of 210 to a low of 183... was at 184 this morning. And all in a couple of months! I don't intend on doing this forever... in fact, my goal was between 175 and 185, so I could theoretically stop at any time. I do want to try to drop it below 180... if I can't get there in the next month or so, I'll probably start eating a few carbs again.
