    Hi all,
    hope you all ok.
    Aint been on much, work has taken over my life.
    Anyway, a copy of a problem a colleague is having here.
    Dont ask me about virtual stuff.....:eek:
    Appreciate any thought.

    Kat

    "I am in need of assistance with vsphere as I have a few questions about the networking on there as I am doing a net install of a centOS VM which is going to be handling the new helpdesk through Apache. I don’t seem to be picking up the network card on two variations of Linux Server I have deployed and am trying to narrow down whether it is something to do with authentication on the network or just simply the drivers have failed to install correctly for Vspheres virtual NIC. Anybody got any ideas? (About vsphere not linux :P)"

    Has he definately selected to add a NIC to the VM from within vSphere?

    A couple of thing he could try are;

    1. Make sure the vNIC is connected in the VM settings
    2. Make sure the proper network has been selected in VM settings
    3. Install vmtools
    4. ifconfig

    You could also look through the /var/log/message for any errors that might be causing the problem;

    Code:
    cat /var/log/messages | grep eth0 | more
