    Hi,

This has probably been asked before, but I would just like some clarification :)

Is it possible to setup a VMware network where only one machine has access to the external network (for internet access), and clients on the virtual network route their traffic through that machine (and are on a completely different subnet)? Thereby isolating them from my household network.

    For example:

    Local Network <------ Virtual Server 2003 <------ Xp1, Xp2

How would I go about setting something like this up? Vmware teams possibly, set the VM's to use NAT?

Thanks for your help, I'm just a little clueless at the minute!

    Hi

I have used a windows 2k3 vm box as a router by installing 2 nics and setting it up, you will find quite a few walkthroughs if you google how too. Otherwise you can download a ready made Linux vm from Vmwares site that is pre configured as a router and set it up for your environment accordingly.

Thanks, just looking at the Vmware NAT appliances!

Seems they'll be pretty handy in isolating any environment no matter OS's I'm running

    :)
