VMWare has released RC1 of version 5.5 of its popular desktop virtulisation software
here is the email I recieved

Dear VMware customer,

We are pleased to announce that VMware Workstation 5.5
Release Candidate 1 is now available. You can download the binaries,
and access detailed information on new features from:
http://www.vmware.com/products/beta/ws/. Once you download
the binaries, your beta serial keys will be automatically
sent to your email address on file.

You can access the Workstation 5.5 discussion forum at:
https://www.vmware.com/community/forum.jspa?forumID=117
To access the discussion forum, you must join the Community
program by updating your VMware profile. Please note that
the discussion forum is not the mechanism to request
tech support.

We ask that you give us candid feedback on the software
and the documentation. If you encounter problems while
testing the release please submit a service request at
the URL listed above by clicking on Request Support.
When filing service requests, be sure to run vm-support
and attach the appropriate log and core files.

Note: In order to file service requests at the URL above,
you'll need to log in using your VMware registered email
address and password. Your email address has been
pre-registered so that you can file SRs easily. Please
choose the appropriate serial number in the "Request
Technical Support" Web page after you log in.

We ask you to make all problem reports using the Web form
listed above. That is the only way they are reported to the
engineering team. Please do not send email reports as they
may get misfiled.

For those who can get it, enjoy, its likely still a time limited beta, but it has some nifty new features, including enhanced command line tools!! (jak)

Is there much of a difference from the 5.5 beta? (which I just installed yesterday)
