    Win2003:

My local area connection 1 is set to 192.168.106.3 as its using the NAT vmnet 8 interface.

my second vmnet (2) is configured to a 10.0.0.0 network

I installed ad, dns, dhcp etc... but when i do a ipconfig /all from an vm xp (dhcp) i see the dns as 192.168.106.3.

It all works but how can i make the dns be 10.0.0.1(the internal nic on win2003)?

Maybe its too early in the morning and im blind as a bat so i cant see the edit button on my first post... anyway...

Basically how do i change the dns entry in the dns server so that when i use dhcp on a client it has the 10.0.0.0 entry as the dns ip address instead of the other one.

right im not sure if this is right but have you tried:

    Open VMWare
    Click Edit
    Click Virtual Network Settings
    Click the NAT tab
Click Edit in the middle of the box
    Then DNS
And i assume this is where you add the DNS servers you want the NAT service in Vmware to use.

If you dont mind me asking what you trying to do? cause im a bit confused

My explanation is a little wonky i agree

I solved the problem though :D, was about the win2003 server dhcp giving out the external NIC address for the DNS entry instead of the internal.

It was solved by having my RAID array die on me lol (hardware not virtual one) :box
