    Hi all,
I am due to start my MCAD in a couple of weeks time. I was wondering if the above software would be sufficient to get me through the course and be suitable for the tasks set and practiceing my own projects. The training firm do not provide any software and as the express edition is free I would rather use it than spend over 200 quid on something like visual studio if possible. Does anyone know if it would be suitable and enough to get me through the course? or is it a serious cut down version of visual studio that will be of little use at all.

It will help - as there are similarities.
It's not quite the same, but anything that gives you a bit of experience is worth trying.
Unfortunately when MS released the 2005 family, they pulled a lot of the free trial versions of 2003.
It's worth sniffing around for the full trial version of 2003 though!
