I set up Beta 1 on a VM last year. Obviously, you won't be able to use the advanced graphics, but it should run fine on a 20gig partition with 256mb of ram, though if you have it, I would give it 512 mb.

I'm hoping to install it tomorrow. My DVD burner crapped out so a friend is burning me a copy.

As I remember, it refused to install on less than 10gig.

Zimbo, I gave it a 16 GB HDD and 512 MB RAM and all the default machine settings. I initially had problems setting it up as the graphics were terrible but once I got through all that and installed the tools it turned out ok.

I have been having a play with the latest beta of Vista on a PC with a decent 3D card in it. I'm very impressed with it so far. I also don't care how many of it's idea's have been nicked from other OS's it's still lovely to look at and use. Anyway, lets face it, there's almost no such thing as an original concept when it comes to IT and especially OS's these days. :)
