    (Oops ! Should read it's a 50 Mbps service !)

It is the first of Britain's ISPs to roll out a next generation broadband service that runs far faster than most others available to UK web users.

So far no word has been given on pricing or which parts of the country will be the first to get it.

Currently, the fastest domestic broadband speed available from Virgin Media is 20Mbps.

I'm on their 20Mbps service, and was told as part of my subscription that I'd get 50Mpbs 'early 2009' and would be moved onto that at no extra cost *fingers crossed*

So all round my house for a LAN party, eh?

I have been with Virgin (or Blueyonder back then) and was originially on their top package of 1Mb/s back in the day. Since then we have always been upgraded for free to the newest speed when it was released. So we have gone from 1Mb/s upto 2Mb/s then to 10Mb/s and now on 20Mb/s. So i would have thought that anyone on the 20Mb/s package would be upgraded for free the same way i and others have been upgraded in the past :)
