I may be wrong (and am not entirely sure of your question) but I thought the point of "Snap" was to keep several windows open at the same time all in minimal form and not to maximize any of them?

I thought it was to reduce the number of clicks or a effortless way to position your windows, I have noticed that you can use the snap feature fine in outlook but not in word or excel

I don't think you can snap them when in maximized state

    Although you can tile them
