Using SMS for remote support - good idea?

I know SMS has lots of features but would you use it for remote support, do you think there are better options out there for remote support than SMS? any porblems you have found using sms for remote support/views etc welcome

You need to investigate the reliability of SMS. I've used it for monitoring and found an unacceptable level of messages that weren't delivered.
