Putty has been around for ages, and has been one of the standard extras I put on a machine for I don't know how long.

Perhaps the blog author thought a reminder was in order.

I've used putty in the past, great tool for SSH. On a windows based machine tough I usually use CuteFTP Pro 8. It has SSH capabilities also.

It has saved me many times. It's a great tool to have at your disposal.

I love putty -- it's great for running RDP or VNC through! And yes, its a standard app for any build that I do too.
