Hi all, I understand the udb files can overide the answer file settings. Also when a udb file is present it will be used instead of the answer file. But why have udbs been created what is there purpose?

Also whats the benefit of using udb's?

    Hope someone can explain.

I will appreciate it thanks dave,

Well as you already know answer files provide answers to prompts which you could otherwise have to answer manually but as you know each computer needs to have some settings which are unique and this is where the UDF files comes in, answer files answers the prompts and UDFs provides the unique stuff. But as you move onto other operating systems/solutions, the functionality of UDFs is incorporated in the answer file.
