Thoughts on this? Such a massive project but why no rollback option?

They've had an absolute shocker haven't they and you're so right. Surely the old system remains as it is, and the instant they started having issues they should of failed back. I'm in a rush so haven't read that properly but surely they haven't moved the accounts instead of copying and switching over? Perhaps you can't have two versions of an account at the same time even if one isn't live, banking is one area I've never covered.

It's sad that they would have saved 100 million because I'd imagine this will cost more and potentially maybe even cause them to go under, which isn't fair on everyone who works there. A terrible situation indeed. I have my property account with TSB and have just accessed it for the first time in days now

How not to run a migration, it shows that even with multi-year planning that things can and will go wrong, it's alarming that shifting from one to another wouldn't leave the migrated data alone in the original location until everyone was happy that the migration was successful.

Not knowing their back-end DB infra I don't know how they were planning to migrate everything but I am thinking that their head of database services is probably quite concerned for their position right about now.
