Troubleshooting A NIC

    I am currentl doing my ccna part one and just starting to learn and need guidenence...........I am just looking at the trooubleshooting procedures and something i have read say that when you go to the device manager if you find a red X or a yellow !. check the network protocols ......... :blink it does not say what to do , would i be right in saying that you would at this piont if it has either
    proceed to eliminate driver problems before going to the next step ?

    What you have described would indicate an issue with either the NIC driver or a conflict with another device, such as an internal modem or sound card etc.

    Network protocols would not cause this behaviour IMHO.
