Hi all,

Just started the 70-270 after a week off from the A+ pass and thought I'd ask you all your comments on this exam if you have any that is. How do you rate the exam against some of the other exams along the way to MCSE? Are there any areas I should be aware of? you get the idea of what I'm after.

Hi Si

I made the mistake with this exam of thinking it is just about the desktop it is not! It is about plugging your desktop into a worldwide network.

 

I found that the following areas kept cropping up:

NTFS and share permissions - This carries through to the 215 as well
Accessability Options
RIS and how to prepare an image from your machine

 

Just to add:

Group Policy (plenty)
Command line switches for unattended installs/upgrades, answer files, etc
MMC (how to use default Management, and creat new ones)
Sysprep, Syspart
Domains, OUs, Site - differences between them

There'll be loads more we could add Si, but what would be the point quoting you the entire contents of the exam ???

I think the above are what we all found in doing 210/270. You'll start to see the common ground, but as always, be ready to do it the Micro$oft way , not necessarily the "right" way

 

Thanks everyone, I've been doing a bit of reading on the exam and your comments seem to match what I've read. All I have to do now is get into study mode.
